Pure Aegopodium podagraria lectin (APP) from Ground Elder Alkaline Phosphatase conjugated. Lectins are derived from the extracts of plants, animals, viruses and microorganisms and are known to agglutinate red blood cells. These agglutinins can select cell types according to blood group activities utilizing sugar-binding mechanisms. Lectins form precipitates with glycoconjugates and are useful for identifying or separating oligosaccharides with identical sugar compositions such as galactose, mannose or glucose. Carbohydrate Specificity: N-Acetylgalactosamine Inhibitory Carbohydrate: N-Acetylgalactosamine Lactose Galactose Activity: Not tested. Chemical Used for Conjugation: Alkaline Phosphatase. Note: APA is a toxic protein. Refer to MSDS before opening vial !! Do not allow to dry. Use 10% bleach for all clean-up. Soak all glassware in bleach after use. Wear mask and gloves when handling. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Freezing alkaline phosphatase conjugates will result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity.
