Albumin is a stable small polypeptide with a strong antigenicity. It has a molecular weight of 69000 and an isoelectric point of 5.7. Applications: Suitable for use as a reference antigen, calibrator, coating protein and blocking agent in a variety of immunoassays including immunodiffusion, immunoelectrophoresis, ELISA, Western Blot, dot-immunobinding assays (DIBA), haemagglutination, and cellbinding assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
