The CKa subunit was purified using Ni2+/NTA-agarose, the b subunit using glutathioneagarose. Applications: Suitable for use in Kinase Assays and MS Tryptic Fingerprint. Other applications not tested. Specific Activity: ~2000u/mg Unit Definition, 1unit of human Casein Kinase 2ab, active acitivity is 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 165uM casein kinase 2 substrate peptide (RRRDDDSDDD) per minute at 30C with a final ATP concentration of 100uM. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
