CD11a, also known as leukocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1alpha), represents the 180kD integrin alphaL subunit which combines with the CD18 beta2 integrin subunit to form the alphaLbeta2 integrin heterodimer. It is expressed on lymphocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, and macrophages and is upregulated on activated T cells. CD11a/LFA-1alpha mediates adhesion of lymphocytes to vascular endothelium and is involved in costimulation.1-5 Applications: Flow cytometry Studies in cell adhesion and cytotoxicity Immunohistochemisty (frozen sections) Immunoprecipitation Blocking studies Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
