CD49d, also known as integrin alpha 4, is a 150kD transmembrane glycoprotein, which may be cleaved to form 70kD and 80kD fragments. CD49d is expressed on a broad range of cells including lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and thymocytes. The CD49d molecule forms heterodimers with either integrin Beta 1 (to form VLA-4) or beta 7 (to form alpha4 beta7), which mediate cell adhesion to VCAM-1 and fibronectin. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:200, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
