CD51 represents the 150kD integrin betaV chain that associates with integrin beta3 (CD61) to form the CD51/CD61 vitronectin receptor on endothelial cells, certain activated leukocytes, NK cells, macrophages, neutrophils and platelets. CD51 is the most promiscuous integrin a subunit, it can form heterodimers with the beta1 (CD29), beta3 (CD61), beta5, beta6 and beta8 subunits in various tissues. CD51/CD61 acts as an activation-independent receptor for platelet attachment and spreading on vitronectin and other RGD-containing proteins, including matrix components. It also mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion via interaction with CD31(1-4). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow cytometry and Immunohistochemistry . Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul/10e6 cells Immunohistochemistry: frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C before opening. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months at 4C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
