| Cholinergic systems are implicated in numerous neurologic functions. Alteration in some cholinergic neurons may account for the disturbances of Alzheimer disease. The protein encoded by this gene synthesizes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Alternative splice variants have been found that contain alternative 5 untranslated exons. Three of the four described splice variants encode identical 69kD proteins while one variant encodes both the 69kD and a larger 82kD protein. Applications: Suitable for use in Antibody Blocking. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Antibody Blocking: 2-5ug/ml. Incubate with antibody for 3 hours at 4C prior to being used on tissue sections. Suitable for use with C5057-05, C5057-06 or C5057-11. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
