Immunogen: Recombinant protein corresponding to Glu19-Ala328 from human Complement Factor H-Related Protein 1 (FHR1), expressed in NSO cells (AAH16755).
Complement Factor H-related protein 1 is a 43kD, secreted member of the factor H family of glycoproteins. It is produced by hepatocytes and circulates as two differentially glycosylated isoforms (37kD and 43kD). Mature human FHR1 is 312aa in length. It contains five, ~60aa SCRs (short consensus repeats/CCPs/SUSHI repeats) that basically constitute the entire molecule. FHR1 may play a role in lipoprotein complexes that bind PMNs to LPS. There is no reported rodent counterpart to FHR1. Over aa 19-143 of the FHR1 precursor, human FHR2 and FHR5 show 98% and 86% aa identity, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml with recombinant Complement Factor H-Related Protein 1 Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml. Used to immunoprecipitate recombinant human FHR1 from conditioned media of transfected NSO cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
