DDC (EC 1.1.128) belongs to the family group II Decarboxylase (DDC, GAD, HDC and TYRD). DDC catalyzes the formation of tryptamine from L-tyrosine. It also acts on 5-hydroxy-LO-tryptophan and dihydroxy-L-Phenylalanine (DOPA). Human DDC (480 aa, chromosome 7p11) is a homodimer in the native state. It requires pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Source: 16aa peptide of human DDC. Location: ~N-terminus Species Sequence Homology: Mouse, porcine, rat-93%, Bovine, guinea pig-87%. Applications: ELISA: Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1ug/ml and detected with antibodies (See D9013-01C & D9013-01E). Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
