Recombinant human epidermal growth factor(EGF) is a 6.3kD globular protein containing 54 amino acids residues, including 3 intra-molecular disulfide bonds. EGF is a potent growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of various epidermal and epithelial cells. Additionally, EGF has been shown to inhibit gastric secretion, and to be involved in wound healing. Recombinant human Epidermal Growth Factor, aa971-1023, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: 6.2kD Biological Activity: The ED50 is < 0.1ng/ml. ED50 was determined by a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
