Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a polypeptide growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. Recombinant murine EGF is a 6.0kD protein containing 53 amino acid residues. Amino Acid Sequence: NSYPGCPSSY DGYCLNGGVC MHIESLDSYT CNCVIGYSGD RCQTRDLRWW ELR Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells is 0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e7 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
