The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), also called human Herpes virus 4 (HHV-4), is a virus of the herpes family and is one of the most common viruses in humans. It is best known as the cause of infectious mononucleosis. It is also associated with particular forms of cancer, particularly Hodgkins lymphoma, Burkitts lymphoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and central nervous system lymphomas associated with HIV. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA or for antigen applications in immunological protocols. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Titer: ~1:500 Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
