Product Description

6-Oxoestriol (carboxymethyl)oxime is a synthetic estrogen. It is a water-soluble compound that can be stored at room temperature in the dark. This drug binds with high affinity to mammalian serum albumin, and has an elimination half-life of 2 hours. The binding constants for 6-oxoestriol (carboxymethyl)oxime and serum albumin are greater than 10,000 M-1. 6-Oxoestriol (carboxymethyl)oxime binds to the estrogen receptor, which mediates its effects on the uterus, mammary gland, and pituitary gland. 6-Oxoestriol (carboxymethyl)oxime is used therapeutically as a replacement for estrogen in cases of hypogonadism or menopause. This drug is also used experimentally to study the role of estrogen receptors in various tissues.
