Factor V is a single chain plasma glycoprotein essential in the blood coagulation cascade. The active cofactor is composed of an NH2-terminal derived light chain, Mr = 94,000, and a COOH-terminal derived light chain, Mr = 74,000 which remain non-covalently associated in the presence of calcium ions. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 20ng antigen/ well, depending on antibody used. Use either PBS or TBS for dilution buffer. Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Source: Bovine plasma Structure: One subunit, 2196 amino acids Form: Supplied as a liquid in 50% glycerol, dH2O. Purity: Chromatographically purified. Verified by SDS-PAGE. Activity determined by clotting assay. Concentration: As reported Extinction Coefficient (1%, 1cm, 280nm): 9.6 Country of Origin: USA Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
