FHIT (fragile histidine triad) is an enzyme that cleaves adenosine 5 PPP 5 A to yield AMP and ADP. FHIT gene encompasses the common fragile site FRA3B on chromosome 3. Alterations and deletions of the FHIT gene are strongly linked to the genesis and establishment of human tumors of the lung, cervix, breast, colon, stomach and pancreas. In normal cells, FHIT may act as a tumor suppressor. This protein physically associates with ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 9. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-147 of human FHIT, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Accession Number: NP_002003. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
