GSTK1 is a member of the kappa class of the glutathione transferase superfamily of enzymes that function in cellular detoxification process. This protein catalyzes the conjugation of the thiol group of glutathione (GSH) to the electrophilic groups of a wide range of hydrophobic substrates, leading to an easier removal of the latter from the cells. Recombinant GSTK1 protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
