GLYAT, also known as glycine-N-acyltransferase, is a mitochondrial acyltransferase which conjugates glycine with acyl-CoA substrates in the mitochondria. The protein is thought to be important in the detoxification of endogenous and xenobiotic acyl-CoAs. Purified by using conventional chromatography. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-296 of human GLYAT, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Molecular Weight: ~36kD (316aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
