Glyoxalase I, also known as GLO1, belongs to the glyoxalase1family. Glyoxalase I is responsible for the catalysis and formation of S-lactoyl-glutathione from methylglyoxal condensation and reduced glutathione. This enzyme is ubiquitously expressed and is also present in many tumor cell lines, in which its concentration is often upregulated. Recombinant human GLO1 protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
