Glycogenin 1 is an enzyme involved in glycogen biosynthesis. Glycogenin 1 is important for the function of self-glucosylates, via an inter-subunit mechanism, to form an oligosaccharide primer that serves as substrate for glycogen synthase. Also, it plays a role in regulating glycogen metabolism and the attainment of maximal glycogen levels in skeletal muscle. Recombinant human Glycogenin 1, fused to His-T7-tag at N-terminus, , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
