HSV-1 gG (aa1-190). This recombinant protein of consists of human superoxide dismutase (SOD) conjugated to the amino terminal region of HSV-1 gG. Migrates at between 45-66kD on SDS-PAGE. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) is usually associated with infections of the lips, mouth, and face. It is the most common herpes simplex virus and is usually acquired in childhood. HSV-1 often causes lesions inside the mouth such as cold sores (fever blisters) and is transmitted by contact with infected saliva. Glycoprotein G is suggested to contribute to viral entry through apical surfaces of polarized cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA or for antigen applications in immunological protocols. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -70C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
