Truncated Recombinant HIV-2 envelope protein gp36 produced as a fusion protein in the E. coli Expression System. Truncated gp36 protein mol.wt: 28kD. Specificity: This protein binds to murine anti-gp36 HIV-2 monoclonal antibodies and HIV-2 converted human serum polyclonal antibodies in ELISA and Western ELISA. Applications: A dose dependent response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration for use in specific applications. ELISA and Western ELISA require 10-100ng protein depending on the nature and affinity of the detection reagent. Human serum polyclonal antibodies yield titers of 1:1000 or greater at 100ng of immobilized protein under standard ELISA conditions. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
