Hygromycin B is an aminoglycosidic antibiotic which inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria, fungi and mammalian cells and is used to select prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that have been transfected with the Hygromycin gene (hyg, hph, HMA, HM+). For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
