Influenza A from A/Texas strain.
Influenza virus is a single-stranded RNA virus, segmented, 70nm diameter and enveloped. Strains are described by geographic origin, strain number, year of isolation, hemagglutination (H) and neuraminidase (N) antigens. It is an acute viral disease of the uper respiratory tract characterized by fever, headache, chills, myalgia, weakness, runny nose and sore throat. Cough can be severe. Nausea and vomiting are uncommon. Fatality is generally low, except for those with chronic lung or heart conditions. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Affinity Constant: 1.2 x 10e10 L/mole Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
