Influenza B virus is a member of the Orthomyxoviridae family which cause acute respiratory illnesses in humans. Influenza B is a single stranded RNA virus which is morphologically similar to the Influenza A virus. Influenza B has a low host range (humans and seals) and slow mutation rate, which although enough to prevent lasting immunity, prevents Influenza B from causing pandemics. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: Indirect or Direct Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
