Purified recombinant human IL-13
IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced mainly by T helper 2 cells, but also by mast cells and NK cells. IL-13 is a unique cytokine having structural features and functional characteristics with IL-4. However, it only shares about 30% homology with the IL-4 sequence. IL-13 inhibits IL-1 beta, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha resulting in anti-inammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages. It also induces B cells to proliferate and isotype-switch to the production of IgE. In addition, IL-13 modulates TH2 cell development interfering key roles in the ostracizing of gastrointestinal parasites and in the evolvement of asthma and allergy. Applications: Suitable for use in Neutralizing, FLISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Hybridoma: Rat spleen cells fused with P3X63-AG8.653 myeloma Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
