IL16, 502-631aa, Human, His-tagged, Recombinant, E. coli Full name: Interleukin 16 Synonyms: LCF, prIL-16, FLJ16806, FLJ42735, FLJ44234, HST19289 Interleukin-16 (IL16) is an immunomodulatory cytokine, which induces lymphocyte migration, expression of proinflammatory IL-1beta, IL6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFalpha), and modulates apoptosis. This protein is a pleiotropic cytokine that functions as a chemoattractant, a modulator of T cell activation, and an inhibitor of HIV replication. The signaling process of this cytokine is mediated by CD4. Also, several central nervous system diseases and may play a role in promoting inflammatory responses. Recombinant human IL16, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
