MIP-5 is a CC chemokine that is expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle and adrenal gland. MIP-5 primarily signals through the CCR1 receptor, but has also been found to bind to CCR3. MIP-5 is chemotactic towards T cells and monocytes. Recombinant human MIP-5 is a 10.1kD protein containing 92 amino acid residues, including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines. Recombinant protein corresponding to 92aa from human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 5 expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~10.1kD Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human T lymphocytes using a concentration range of 1-10ng/ml. Amino Acid Sequence: QFTNDAETEL MMSKLPLENP VVLNSFHFAA DCCTSYISQS IPCSLMKSYF ETSSECSKPG VIFLTKKGRQ VCAKPSGPGV QDCMKKLKPY SI Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% HSA or BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
