The MCP proteins are members of the CC chemokine family that signal through CCR2 and, with the exception of MCP-1, other CCR receptors. The MCP proteins chemoattract and activate monocytes, activated Tcells, basophils, NK cells, and immature dendritic cells. The MCP family cross-reacts across species. Recombinant human MCP-3 is a 9kD protein containing 76 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines. Molecular Weight: ~9kD Amino Acid Sequence: QPVGINTSTT CCYRFINKKI PKQRLESYRR TTSSHCPREA VIFKTKLDKE ICADPTQKWV QDFMKHLDKK TQTPKL Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood monocytes using a concentration range of 10-100ng/ml. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
