MTAP (Methylthioadenosine phosphorylase) is important in polyamine metabolism and for the salvage of both adenine and methionine. It is involved in the metabolism of MeSAdo (methylthioadenosine), a by-product of the synthesis of the polyamines spermidine and spermine. MTAP is deficient in many cancers because the MTAP gene is co-deleted with the tumor suppressor p16. Source: Recombinant human MTAP, aa2-end, with N-terminal GST tag, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months.
