MAP2 is a protein that belongs to the microtubule-associated protein family. The proteins of this family are thought to be involved in microtubule assembly, which is an essential step in neurogenesis. The exact function of this protein is still unknown. The products of similar genes in rat and mouse are neuron-specific cytoskeletal proteins that are enriched in dentrites, implicating a role in determining and stabilizing dentritic shape during neuron development. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, and Imunofluorescence.. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin, frozen): 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with 1.2% sodium acetate. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C.
