The MCP proteins are members of the CC chemokine family that signal through CCR2 and, with the exception of MCP-1, other CCR receptors. The MCP proteins chemoattract and activate monocytes, activated Tcells, basophils, NK cells, and immature dendritic cells. The MCP family cross-reacts across species. Recombinant mouse MCP-2 is an 8.5kD protein containing 74 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in the CC chemokines. Recombinant protein corresponding to 74aa from mouse MCP2 expressed in E. coli Molecular Weight: ~8.5kD Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood monocytes using a concentration range of 10-100ng/ml. Amino Acid Sequence: GPDKAPVTCC FHVLKLKIPL RVLKSYERIN NIQCPMEAVV FQTKQGMSLC VDPTQKWVSE YMEILDQKSQ ILQP Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
