Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal, CGRGTKF, of the Myelin proteolipid protein.
This transmembrane proteolipid protein is the predominant myelin protein present in the central nervous system. It may play a role in the compaction, stabilization, and maintenance of myelin sheaths, as well as in oligodendrocyte development and axonal survival. Mutations in this gene cause X-linked Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease and spastic paraplegia type 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms or having different 5 UTRs, have been identified. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
