Control Peptide for O7500 (antiserum) and O7500-05 (affinity purified) Synthetic peptide, 18aa, amino terminus of murine Orexin A. Hypothalamic neuropeptides associated with feeding behavior, binding and activating two closely related Orexin receptors-G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) OX1R and OX2R. Recognizes the full-length (1-33 aa) Orexin-A. The epitope is not found in Orexin B. Since Orexin A and Orexin B are derived from an unprocessed pre-pro-orexin (130 aa), anti-Orexin A antibodies may also react with prepro orexins. Antibody crossreactivity in various species is not established, although murine Orexin A peptide is 100% homologous in mouse, rat, and human. Applications: Suitable for use as a control in ELISA and antibody blocking. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
