Peroxiredoxin 6, also known as PRDX6, is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell and can reduce H2O2 and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury. Recombinant human peroxiredoxin 6 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Enzymatic activity is defined as the amount of hydroperoxide that 1ug of enzyme can reduce at 25C for 1minute. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
