PCMT1, also known as L-isoaspartyl protein carboxyl methyltransferase, is an enzyme that catalyses the methyl esterification of L-isoaspartyl and D-aspartyl residues in peptides and proteins that result from spontaneous decomposition of normal L-aspartyl and L-asparaginyl residues. This protein plays a role in the repair and/or degradation of damaged proteins. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-227 of human PCMT1 6x his tagged, expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
