Placenta growth factor (PlGF), a homodimeric glycoprotein that is homologous to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), is mitogenic to endothelial cells and protects trophoblast from apoptosis. Alternative splicing of mature mRNA gives rise to three known isoforms of PlGF. PlGF is expressed by human trophoblast during normal pregnancy, however, it is not known which isoforms are produced. Recombinant Human PLGF-2 produced in insect cells is a homodimer comprised of glycosylated polypeptide chains containing 2x152 amino acids and having a total molecular mass of 44kD. Recombinant Human PLGF-2 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques Biological Activity: Can bind to immobilized rh-sFlt-1 (100ng/well) with a linear range at 0.3-10ng/ml corresponding to a specific activity of 0.1-3.4 MIU/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile acetic acid. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Supplied as a lyophilized powder containing BSA. Reconstitute in sterile 20mM acetic acid to a concentration of 0.1mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
