Polyvinylpyrrolidone 30 is a synthetic polymer consisting of linear 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone groups with an average molecular weight of ~30-40,000 and is characterized by its viscosity in aqueous solution, expressed as K value. It is used in pharmaceutical manufacturing as well in plant and embryo tissue culture as a solubilizer and complexing agent. Description: An 40% (wt/wt) solution of PVP 30 in sterile water.
