SGPL1 (Sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase 1) cleaves phosphorylated sphingoid bases (PSBs), such as sphingosine-1-phosphate, into fatty aldehydes and phosphoethanolamine. SGPL1 elevates stress-induced ceramide production and apoptosis. SGPL1 is a Type III membrane protein and is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. Highest levels are found in liver, followed by kidney, lung, heart and brain. It belongs to the group II decarboxylase family and the sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase subfamily. Source: Recombinant human SGPL1, aa59-end, with C-terminal His tag, expressed in Baculovirus infected Sf9 cell expression system. Molecular Weight: 57.5kD Applications: Useful for the study of of biochemical function. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months.
