KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 951-962 SQEEGS[pS]QGEDS) of human SMC1 (Structural Maintenance of Chromosome 1). The immunizing sequence is identical in bovine and has 11/12 identical amino acids in mouse and xenopus.
Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml detects phospho-SMC1 in RIPA lysates from irradiated GMO536 cells and hydroxyurea treated HEK293 cells. Cell lysates from untreated and irradiated GMO536 cells were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-phospho-SMC1 (Ser957) (2ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
