Full length protein corresponding to aa1-223 of human STYX. (NP_660294.1)
STYX belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, Non-receptor class subfamily. It contains one tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain and is a probable pseudophosphatase. It has a Gly residue instead of a conserved Cys residue in the dsPTPase catalytic loop which renders it catalytically inactive as a phosphatase. The binding pocket is however sufficiently preserved to bind phosphorylated substrates, and may be protect them from phosphatases. STYX seems to play a role in spermiogenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000, Band is observed at ~25.5kD using STYX-transfected 293T lysate Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
