Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) is tissue specific for activation of plasminogen. The kringle-2 domain of tPA reacts with lysine residues on the fibrin forming an activated complex. tPA is a single chain molecule that is cleaved to the active two-chain form by the action of the plamin pathway. tPA primarily exists coupled to PAI-1 in circulation. tPA is completely complexable with human PAI-1 Specific Activity: As Reported Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
