Electrophoretically purified human skeletal muscle Titin.
Connectin/Titin is an ~ megadalton (MD) elastic filamentous protein of striated muscle sarcomeres. One connectin molecule spans from the Z line to the M line on the myosin filament in a half sarcomere, thus forming the third filament in addition to the myosin and actin filaments in a sarcomere. Connectin filaments position the myosin filaments at the center of a sarcomere as a spring and are responsible for passive tension generation when sarcomeres are stretched. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Neat to 1:10 Western Blot: 1:10-1:20 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
