Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM-1) is a 30kD member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on neutrophils and a subset of monocytes. TREM-1 is involved in the microbial inflammatory response. It acts in conjunction with the adaptor protein DAP12 to activate neutrophils and monocytes, leading to the secretion of pro-inflammatory mediators and enhancement of the inflammatory response. Microbial infection also induces the release of soluble form of TREM-1 from monocytes, which is reported to act as an inhibitor of TREM-1. TREM-1 mediates the septic shock pathway, and blocking TREM-1 has been reported to reduce inflammation and increase survival in certain models of bacterial infection. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Functional applications. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:25-1:100. Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections. The epitope recognized by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Acetone fixation is recommended for frozen sections. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Not recommended Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
