Trypsin is a pancreatic serine protease with substrate specificity based upon positively charged lysine and arginine side chains. Trypsin is inhibited by organophosphorous compounds such as diisopropylfluorophosphate and porcine-derived inhibitors. Quality Control: SDS-PAGE Activity: 180u/mg Protein (1mg trypsin 180 TAME units, 10,350 BAEE units, 3450 USP/NF units) Unit Definition: 1 unit of trypsin hydrolyzes 1umole of p-toluenesulfonyl-L-arginine methyl ester (TAME) per minute 25C, pH 8.2, in the presence of 0.01M calcium ion. Virus Testing: None Detected Bovine Mycoplasma, Bovine Adenovirus (BAV), Rabies, Bovine Blue Tongue (BTV), Reovirus (REO), Bovine Parvovirus (BPV), Bovine Resp. Synctial (BRSV), Bovine Diarrhea virus. Appliations: Sutiable for use in Protein Sequencing, Cell and Tissue Disassociation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Monolayer Dissociation: 0.002-0.01% depending upon strain. Primary Embryo Tissues: 0.01-0.1% Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute to nominal volume, aliquot and store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Country of Origin: North America Certificate of Origin The raw animal product used in the manufacturing of Trypsin is derived from materials originating in North America. Material is processed in a USDA inspected facility. Note: Trypsin is subject to a pH 3.0 for 5 hours during processing.
