CD120b, otherwise known as sTNF receptor type II (sTNFR1I), is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily, produced by proteolytic cleavage of the membrane form by the metalloprotease TACE. CD120b plays a key role in regulating the inflammatory response, acting as a receptor for both tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and TNF-beta, and is also involved in programmed cell death and anti-viral activity. sTNFR1I acts as an inhibitor of TNF-alpha induced responses, by acting as a decoy receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.25-1ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
