Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase (TDP1) is a DNA repair enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of a phophodiester bond between a tyrosine residue and a DNA 3 phosphate. This protein is a member of the phospholipase D (PLD) superfamily and contains two PLD phosphodiesterase domains. Mutations in TDP1 are associated with the disease spinocerebellar ataxia with axonal neuropathy (SCAN1) by interfering with DNA transcription or by inducting apoptosis in postmitotic neurons. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
