Recombinant protein derived from an internal region of human Ubiquilin.
Ubiquilin is a recently discovered protein that is involved in early onset Alzheimers disease. Ubiquilin binds to and promotes aggregation of presenilin proteins. Although the Ubiquilin protein contains ubiquitin-like domains, Ubiquilin appears to increase presenilin synthesis, rather than affect presenilin turnover. Ubiquilin is found in neuropathological lesions that are characteristic of Alzheimers and Parkinsons diseases. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
