The Ubc13 protein was first identified for its unique role in ubiquitin chain assembly at the Lys63 residue of ubiquitin, rather than the conventional Lys48 site. Ubc13, which acts as an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, must first form a complex with its E2 partner, Mms2, for enzymatic activity. Mms2 belongs to a family of UEV (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme variant) proteins, Ubc13/UEV complexes are involved in error-free DNA postreplication repair (PRR) in yeast and in the NFkB signaling pathway in humans Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and FLISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1-5ug/ml Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml FLISA: 0.1-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
