UBE2N, also known as UBC13, is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. It catalyzes the ATP-dependent synthesis of non-canonical polyubiquitin chains, a process that does not lead to proteasomal degradation. It mediates the transcription of several target genes and is thought to play a role in cell cycle progression, cellular differentiation and DNA repair mechanisms that ensure cell survival after DNA damage. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-152 from human UBE2N, fused to His-tag at N-terminus expressed in E. coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
