Immunogen: Recombinant protein corresponding to human VEGF expressed in E. coli.
VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein involved in angiogenesis which promotes tumor progression and metastasis. It exhibits potent mitogenic and permeability inducing properties specific for the vascular endothelium. Multiple isoforms of VEGF containing 206-, 189-, 165-, and 121-amino acid residues have been described which arise from alternative splicing of a single gene. The smaller two isoforms, VEGF165 and VEGF121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two remain cell associated. VEGF/VPF plays an important role in angiogenesis, which promotes tumor progression and metastasis. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Direct FLISA: 0.5ug/ml using 100ul/well antibody solution. Allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant hVEGF. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant hVEGF is 1.5-3.0ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
